Inteligența emoțională și personalitatea. Convergențe și divergențe
Keywords:
validity, Emotional Intelligence, personalityAbstract
The present study discusses the convergence of Emotional Intelligence measuring forms as well as the difference among these and personality models. Emotional Intelligence was assessed from the perspective of both EQ-i mixt model (Bar-On, 1997) and ability model MSCEIT (Mayer, Salovey și Caruso, 2002). Personality was measured using NEO PI-R (Costa and McCrae, 1992) and CPI – 260 (Gough, 2006). Research was conducted on a sample of 130 participants. The results obtained are similar to other literature studies. The two IE questionnaires have a low degree of convergence, indicating different operationalizations of different constructs. Regarding the link between IE and personality, results show a strong connection with the mixt model and a poor relation with the ability model. The study based on the Romanian sample has similar results with acknowledged studies, providing an interesting perspective on the use of these tools in the Romanian space.
